It is an incontrovertible fact that a dying man will catch at the last straw and nothing better captures this saying other than the latest antics of world famous fraudster Fred Ajidua who is presently standing trial for fraud charges of $1.69m before a lagos high court than his attempt to ask for transfer of the case from the judge presently handling it Justice Olubunmi Oyewole on the grounds of bias. Our memory is still fresh with all the futile diversionary antics put up by former CSO to General Abacha Major Hamza Al Mustapha who even went to the ridiculous level of becoming a film producer without certification just to waste the time of the court and divert attention from the substance of the murder charge for which at the end of the day justice was done by his being sentenced to death after a trial that lasted almost over a decade with hiccups all the way. Ajidua days of reckoning has finally come and no amount of time wasting tactics will prevent the course of justice from getting to its final destination. We are watching

THE DESPICABLE NATIONAL SHOW OF SHAME AT RIVERS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY IS AN ASSAULT ON OUR DEMOCRACY

The Criminals & some Policemen

The Centre for Rights and Grassroots Initiative (CRGI) condemns in strong terms the despicable, unparliamentary, undemocratic, irresponsible, crude, barbaric, illegal, unconstitutional and hoodlums show of shame exhibited yesterday Tuesday 09/07/2013 at the Rivers State House of Assembly by dishonourable Evans Bipialaka representing Ogu constituency, Kelechi Wogu and their gang of hoodlums who assaulted the democratic rights of the good people of Rivers State by invading the exalted legislative house to commit criminality.

We have are too shocked by the brazen assault and violation of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by this miscreants who seem to have the support and cooperation of the Rivers state police command. Our position is based on the fact that up till this moment, despite the physical damages to properties in the house and injuries inflicted on some legislators, the Rivers state police command is yet to come up with the arrest of any of the criminals, neither have they launched an investigation into this national show of shame.

This despicable national show of shame is an assault on our democracy and constitution and must be punished if we are not to legitimized criminality.

We are hereby calling on the Inspector General of Police to immediately wade into this matter by ensuring that justice is done through arrest and prosecution of these criminals.

Once again, we are calling for the redeployment and discipline of the commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Mr. Mbu Joseph Mbu for abusing his office by being a co-conspirator in this mindless rape of our constitution.

We also want to call on the joint houses of the National Assembly to immediately wade into this matter by passing a resolution condemning this National show of shame and call for the arrest and prosecution of the criminals and as well for the removal and prosecution of the state police commissioner for assaulting the constitution.

We are equally calling on the Rivers State house of assembly to immediately convene and mete out adequate disciplinary measures to its members who have brought the integrity of the house to ridicule by engaging in criminality.
