On Wednesday15th January 2014 was a memorable day as the 10th edition of the
Chief Gani Fawehinmi Annual Lecture/Symposium "Fawehinmiism" with the topic:
Nigeria at centenary: A Nation still in bondage? The programme was a well
attended event by Nigerians from all walk of life notably the legal profession,
top government functionaries, legislators,Labour and human right activists, Late
Chief Gani Fawehinmi family members and friends, top business executives,
traditional rulers, religious leaders, media, etc
The event had in attendance notable Nigerians such as Justice Ayo Salami (Rtd. Fmr
President of the Court of Appeal) who was the chairman of the occassion, Pastor
Tunde Bakare, Presiding Pastor of Latter Rain Assembly who was the guest lecturer
and his amiable wife, Alhaji Balarabe Musa (Fmr.Civilian Governor of Kaduna State)
Mrs. Ganiat Fawehinmi, Mrs. K. A. Aka-Bashorun, Mallam Yinusa Tanko (National
Chairman NCP) Barr. Monday Ubani, Niyi Idowu, Fred Agbaje,Dele Adesina (SAN) Tayo
Oyetibo (SAN) Bamidele Aturu, Malachy Ugwummadu, Fred Nzeakor, Wale Ogunade, Muiz
Banire, Taiwo Taiwo, Ukeji, Dr. Amos Akingba, Yinka Odumakin,Mohammed
Fawehinmi,Funmi Tejuosho, Chief Onovo, Oloye Adeniji, Comrades Issa Aremu (Vice
President NLC), kayode Opeifa Lagos State Commissioner for transportation, Richard

Indeed, it was a memorable day as Nigerians trooped out to honour late Chief Gani
Fawehinmi of blessed memory for his good works which is outliving him.
