On Tuesday January 7th 2014, Nigerians from all walks of life trooped out in their thousands to felicitate with the family of late Alao Aka-Bashorun, his friends and associates as the Lagos State government honoured this great Patriot, Nationalist, Pan Africanist, Human Right Crusader and fighter for the masses, advocate of true federalism with the unveiling of a bust and dedication of a park and garden in his name in Gbagada Phase II in Lagos State. The event witnessed a large turnout of distinguished personalities of various calling. The Lagos State government was ably and visibly present with the attendance of the Chief Executive Officer of the State, Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), his deputy, Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire and members of the State Executive Council comprising the Secretary to the State government, Commissioners and Special Advisers, Former Governor Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the family of late Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun led by the matriarch, his wife Mrs. K. A. Aka-Bashorun, the children and other family members, Lagos White Cap Chiefs, notable labour and human right activists such as Comrades Issa Aremu, Vice President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Kayode Opeifa Lagos State Commissioner for transportation, Malachy  Ugwummadu, Richard Akinnola, Bamidele Aturu, Ayo Opadokun, Nelson Ekujumi, Shina Loremikan, Linus Okoroji, Achike Achude, Rasheed Raji, Razaq Olokooba, Ajayi Popoola, Baba Pastor, Apostle Fayoda, Mohammed Fawehinmi, Mrs. Ganiat Fawehinmi, Jubril Ogundimu, Nike Ransome Kuti, Mrs. Ajayi Popoola (Iron Lady), Segun Aka-Bashorun,  Funmi Ajayi, Yemisi Adelaja, Leke Oyebanji, Monday Onyekachi Ubani chairman Ikeja branch NBA, Chief Onovo, Oloye Adeniji, Major Debo Bashorun (Rtd.) executive members and residents of Gbagada phase II Residents Association, members of the press, security personnel and well wishers too numerous to mention. It was a memorable day to behold as all personalities present commended the immortalization of this fallen Hero by the Lagos State government.
